The Safe Boating Council encourages all boaters to participate in Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day on May 17, 2024, the day before National Safe Boating Week. No matter where boaters are working, they can join in the fun by wearing their life jacket and posting creative pictures on social media for a chance to win a prize.

This is a great way to encourage others to boat responsibly.

How to Participate

Boaters share a picture of themselves wearing a life jacket at work (or home) on social media along with the hashtag #wearyourlifejacketatworkday and tag @boatingcampaign (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram).

Don’t use social media? Email photos to outreach@safeboatingcouncil.org.

Chance to Win a Prize

Winners will be chosen randomly throughout the day to receive boating swag from the Safe Boating Campaign, such as t-shirts, dry bags, first aid kits, stickers, and more.

Hundreds of adults and children in attendance. Public paid admission.

Importance of PA Event:
High visibility and interaction with Ventura County Sheriff Department, Fire Department, Bomb Squad, EMT, SAR, and more. You will provide information on Recreational Boating Safety information, Auxiliary recruiting, VSC requests, and Boating Safety class sign-up, etc. This event is an annual PA mission for our Division with huge benefit to the Auxiliary and to Active Duty Coast Guard! About the Event:
Salute to Public Safety Organizations
DATES: Saturday September 30 and Sunday October 1 – 0830 – 1630 (2 shifts daily)
MISSION: Recreational Boating Safety, Auxiliary recruiting, class sign-up, Vessel Safety Check requests, etc.
LOCATION: Underwood Family Farms – Public Safety Days – 3370 Sunset Valley Road Moorpark, CA 93021

Auxiliary Volunteers Needed (16 slots):
Provide boating safety information to public (including youth). Explain Boating Safety, Life Jackets, Environmental Protection, Recruit new Auxiliary candidates, Sign-up VSC & Boating Safety Classes, etc..
ODU Uniform
Must have all AuxCT (core training) up to date.
ATD will be submitted by Event Leader
